Leading digital staffing app, Rota, has announced the appointment of its new Fulfilment and Engagement Manager, Joe Holdsworth. The newly created role is to ensure that the fulfilment of shifts and Member quality is conducive with Rota’s rapid growth, now supplying to over 1000 hospitality Partners with temporary talent in six UK cities.

Holdsworth has been appointed at Rota’s Head Office in London, bringing his wealth of knowledge and experience in hospitality to engage and motivate Rota’s flexible workforce, ensuring their Partners are provided with not only highly skilled talent, but people who also love the work that they do.

In excess of 18 years in the industry, Joe is a hospitality professional who throughout his career has worked at all levels. Appointed as Director of Operations at Aspirational Pub Company, he was part of the senior management team who grew the brand from one to five sites. As a high-level Mixologist, Joe specialised in the training and development of staff, before starting two of his own cocktail bars in Hertfordshire.

Joe said: “Through my experience I have had a lot of exposure to the modern challenges of staffing within hospitality. I think we’re at a time where tech can really help with that from multiple angles; not just in training and development, but in mental health and upskilling, too. Smart technology enables more job opportunities, but it’s important to ensure that people don’t feel distant or unsupported when choosing a flexible working lifestyle. Community is important, and it’s exciting to work with a brand who places so much emphasis on this for their Members, particularly at scale.

“Rota represents adaptation at its core, and I believe harnessing this forward-thinking solution can make the lives better for both employers and employees. I join at this time of rapid growth and can’t wait to hit the ground running to make a real difference in the industry I feel so passionate about.”

CEO of Rota, Steve Segel added: “World class technology supplemented with a human element has been a cornerstone of our philosophy from the get-go, as the nature of what we do is people focused. Technology facilitates and improves the experience but human relationships and service levels are what cement trust from our members and partners alike.

“Joe’s arrival underlies this commitment and will allow us to remain leaders in our market, always keeping our clients and candidates at the forefront of our hybrid services model. Joe combines sharp hospitality knowledge with a real understanding of what really works well for candidates and clients, which will make him a real asset for our Members. This ensures our Partners receive maximum fulfilment of shifts with engaged, enthusiastic talent who also love the work that they do.”

Rota operates in London, Manchester, Leeds, Edinburgh, Glasgow and most recently launched in its sixth city, York, reaching multi-million second and third year; with forecast to triple in 2019.
