About Us

With years of industry experience behind our founders, they endured the frustrations of managing part-time staff and dealing with costly, old-fashioned agencies first-hand. With just three people around a kitchen table, this frustration turned into an idea and Rota was born.

Our team is now made up of 40 ex-hospitality and recruitment professionals, combining a wealth of knowledge in both fields dedicated to improving people’s working lives today.

Spanning five UK cities, our Members are making the most of the freedom, higher pay and improved working conditions, whilst our Partners are saving time and money with access to a network of highly motivated, rated and engaged staff right when they need them. Whether it’s saving a manager hours in the week or enabling a student to earn whilst they learn - we know the status quo is shifting. With innovative technology and our love for treating people right, we’re proud to be driving the change.

Appointed CEO of Rota in 2018, Steve brings with him a wealth of experience and knowledge in scaling fast growth businesses and creating a culture of success for staff, candidates and clients alike. Steve boasts extensive experience in leading fast-growth businesses through to exit in addition to group roles as CFO and COO prior to Rota at Spencer Ogden and NP Group. Steve has been part of the management teams that have scaled, then exited companies such as Blue Group to HCL, Bluetec to Morson International and Aston Carter to Allegis Inc where the team won the coveted BVCA National Management Team of the year award.

Tom Williams

Former hotel manager, Tom co-founded Rota out of the frustration of relying on costly agencies and managing part time staff, which in just under three years helped almost 700 venues find high quality staff in the hospitality sector whilst simultaneously benefiting staff with higher pay, flexible hours and better working conditions. Now leading Business Development with an aggressive growth strategy, Tom works closely with a host of venues across the country and will lead the innovative firm as it expands to transforming recruitment in alternative industry sectors.
