With years of industry experience behind our founders, they endured the frustrations of managing part-time staff and dealing with costly, old-fashioned agencies first-hand. With just three people around a kitchen table, this frustration turned into an idea and Rota was born.
Our team is now made up of 40 ex-hospitality and recruitment professionals, combining a wealth of knowledge in both fields dedicated to improving people’s working lives today.

Appointed CEO of Rota in 2018, Steve brings with him a wealth of experience and knowledge in scaling fast growth businesses and creating a culture of success for staff, candidates and clients alike. Steve boasts extensive experience in leading fast-growth businesses through to exit in addition to group roles as CFO and COO prior to Rota at Spencer Ogden and NP Group. Steve has been part of the management teams that have scaled, then exited companies such as Blue Group to HCL, Bluetec to Morson International and Aston Carter to Allegis Inc where the team won the coveted BVCA National Management Team of the year award.
Former hotel manager, Tom co-founded Rota out of the frustration of relying on costly agencies and managing part time staff, which in just under three years helped almost 700 venues find high quality staff in the hospitality sector whilst simultaneously benefiting staff with higher pay, flexible hours and better working conditions. Now leading Business Development with an aggressive growth strategy, Tom works closely with a host of venues across the country and will lead the innovative firm as it expands to transforming recruitment in alternative industry sectors.
Terry is a highly successful and enthusiastic business leader with 20 years’ experience in staffing and recruitment sales. Starting as a Temps Consultant in London in 1996, Terry built an industrial temps desk from 0 to 120 in his first year. He has been a driving force of consistent success throughout his diverse employment background, notably as Head of Adia UK - a digital staffing subsidiary of Adecco Group. Terry is a key player in leading our company’s success, currently forecast to accelerate turnover by 200% during 2019 alone.
Kevin is a visionary and technically sophisticated Cloud Software Product Leader boasting over 15 years experience of profit-driven leadership and professional services management experience, including several successful start-ups in Silicon Valley. Kevin’s diverse employment history has seen him serving end-users and businesses with revenues ranging between £1M and £50M. Kevin is a key driver in ensuring Rota’s applications are innovative, modern and user friendly. Overseeing the tech team, Kevin has been instrumental in building the better way to work.
Jude is an operations specialist with an emphasis on navigating disruptive industries, and previously scaled departments at Deliveroo from one team with two employees to six teams with 100 employees. With a genuine interest to positively impact society, Jude joined Rota to combine his strong project and program management skills to drive the Member side of the business, overseeing the onboarding, fulfilment of shifts and Member engagement at Rota.
Ali is Finance professional (FCA) and previously Finance Director of a private equity backed manufacturing company, having previously worked in consultancy & accountancy firms, commerce & industry and financial services in line and project roles. Along with working in large multi-national organisations, his most recent experience has been in SMEs, heading up finance functions, by owning and improving the financial processes, establishing controls, reporting, analysis and then gearing it up for rapid growth.
Tommy spent three years at nGAGE Specialist Recruitment as a Marketeer and in his last year and a half he oversaw digital marketing for the sixteen businesses under the group umbrella, driving multiple initiatives to digitise analog processes. An integral part of building the better way to work, Tommy has implemented the marketing function of the business from scratch, and in his first year played a key role in reducing Rota’s CPA by 75% and doubling the number of new Members on the app versus the previous year.
